We are a FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) team based out of William Henry Harrison High School in West Lafayette, Indiana. We were founded in the spring of 2005 and participated in our first season in 2006. Since then, our team has grown tremendously, from 12 students in a math hallway closet to 50 students and our own dedicated room with access to school-owned machine shops.
Every season, we build a robot to complete tasks set before us, and in doing so, teach our members about science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) while also putting them in an environment that prepares them for the real world. We offer opportunities for our high school students to develop programming, building, electrical, computer-aided design (CAD), graphic design, web design, essay writing, grant writing, and presentation skills.
At Harrison Boiler Robotics, we don’t just build robots; we give back to our community. FIRST is all about spreading STEAM to the younger generation, especially those who might not otherwise have access to STEAM education. Our outreach programs help us achieve this goal.
We were also affiliated with the FIRST Tech Challenge team 10133 for three seasons.
We would love your support! Building robots is no easy task, so if you are a business looking to sponsor us, visit our Sponsor Us page. You can also donate to the team via our Donations page. If you are an adult in the West Lafayette area considering volunteering your time to mentor our students, email us at 1747bosspanda@gmail.com.
