Who are we?
We are a FIRST robotics team based out of West Lafayette, Indiana. We were founded in the spring of 2005 and participated in our first season in 2006. Since then, our team has grown tremendously, from 12 to 50 students and from a closet in a math hallway to our own dedicated room with access to school-owned machine shops. We were also affiliated with FIRST Tech Challenge team 10133 for three seasons.
What do we do?
We build robots! Every season we build a robot to complete tasks set before us, and in doing so teach our members about STEAM while also putting them in an environment that gets them ready to go out into the real world. We offer opportunities to gain programming, building, electrical, computer-aided design, graphic and web design, essay and grant writing, and presenting skills to our high school students.
But wait, there’s more! We don’t just build robots, we give back to our community. FIRST is all about spreading STEM to the younger generation, especially those who might not otherwise have access to STEM education. We host and attend outreach events to achieve just this.
How can you support us?
We would love your support! Building robots is no easy task, so if you are a business looking to sponsor us go here. If you are an adult in the West Lafayette area considering volunteering your time to mentor our students email us here.
